From Fr Fred: Let us keep Pope Francis in prayer. He was a good and kind man, called as the vicar of Jesus Christ, to lead the church in challenging times. In His ministry, he was a faithful servant who revealed to us again and again the love of God for all, especially the weak and vulnerable. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
On Wednesday, April 30th Fr. Fred will dedicate the Mass at noon for our beloved Pope Francis. The Prayers and Readings will reflect this dedication. This Sunday's Masses will also be dedicated for repose of the soul of Pope Francis.

With Gratitude Thank you to all who donated Easter Lilies and those who decorated the church for Easter Services. Your time, talent and treasure are greatly appreciated.
Live Streaming Volunteers
To live stream the 11:00 AM Mass on Sundays, Fr Fred is asking for 3 volunteers who will direct the cameras throughout the Mass. These volunteers will alternate Sundays as scheduled. Your ministry will expand the evangelization of the St. James the Apostle Catholic Church community beyond our church walls and into the world. To volunteer, please contact Andre Duplessis as soon as possible.
Seventh Annual St. James Easter Clothing Drive
From now until April 28, 2025, the Outreach Committee will collect new socks. t-shirts and underwear of all sizes. Toiletries are also accepted including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. These items will be donated to Child Haven, an organization that cares for children who are removed from their homes and placed in protective custody. These children have few, if any, of their personal belongings. When they leave Child Haven to live with relatives or in a foster home, Child Haven provides duffle bags filled with new clothing, toys and other items to children. Please help them continue this service. If there are any questions, please contact Angie Bigas.

United in Generosity as One Global Family
Amid the harsh conditions of the Sahel region's 1976 drought, millions faced hunger. That same year, Catholics worldwide gathered at the 41st International Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia, focusing on “The Eucharist and the Hungers of the Human Family.” As Lent draws to a close, let's reflect on how our prayers, fasting and almsgiving can help ensure no one goes hungry in the middle of today's global food crisis. Last day to drop off donations is Sunday, April 27.
Catholic Home Missions Appeal and Black and Indian Missions Second Collections - April 27, 2025
Launched in 1998, the Appeal strengthens the Catholic Church in the United States and its territories in the Caribbean and the Pacific where resources are thin and priests are few. Grantees include 87 Latin and Eastern Catholic dioceses. The appeal funds a wide range of pastoral services including evangelization, religious education, and the maintenance of mission parishes, the training of seminarians and lay ministers, and ministry with ethnic groups. Since 1884, proceeds from the Black and Indian Missions Collection (Bilvf) are distributed as grants to dioceses supporting and strengthening evangelization programs, which would otherwise be in danger of disappearing among the Black, American Indian, Eskimo, and Aleut communities of the United States. Traffic
Fr Fred strongly recommends that parishioners use the back gate on Lexington to enter and exit the parking lot on Sunday morning especially while the construction on Martin Luther King Blvd is causing severe delays.
Note: The congestion in front of the church is worse! The back gate will be open during the week and on Sundays while the construction on Martin Luther King Blvd is underway.
